The Building Healthier Lives Awards aims to recognise staff, volunteers and charity supporters of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) who are building healthier lives for the people of Birmingham and Solihull through their commitment, ingenuity and determination.
The 15 award categories celebrate the exceptional achievements, dedication and compassion of so many, who every day go ‘above and beyond’ to provide the best in care for our patients and their families or go that ‘extra mile’ to support colleagues in this aim.
The awards have two stages – Site Finals and an overall Grand Final.
At each of our hospital sites* three finalists for each category, as determined by the judging panel, will be invited to a site final where it will be revealed which finalist has been awarded the Bronze, Silver and Gold Award for each category. The site finals will be held at each of our four hospital sites* in November 2018.
- Good Hope Hospital – 7 November
- Solihull Hospital – 9 November
- Heartlands Hospital – 15 November
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital – 16 November
The Gold Award winners from the site finals will go forward to the Grand Final to decide the overall Trust-wide winner for each award category. The overall winner for each category will be presented with the Diamond Award at a glittering ceremony in March 2019.
For details of the ceremonies, please see our Event Details section.
*Our sites are: Good Hope Hospital, Heartlands Hospital including Birmingham Chest Clinic, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Solihull Hospital including Solihull Community Services.
